The Rock continued to roll past opponents over the weekend as they recorded four wins in as many matches at the Clarion Holiday Inn Classic.
SRU blanked both Point Park and Geneva by 3-0 scores Friday night, then dumped Davis & Elkins and East Stroudsburg by 3-1 scores on Saturday.
As a result, The Rock will take a 24-4 record into Tuesday's 7 p.m. Pennsylvani State Athletic Conference-Western Division showdown with Lock Haven in Morrow Field House.
The Rock, Lock Haven and California U. of Pa. are currently tied for the top spot in the division with 4-1 PSAC-West records.
The 24 wins in 28 matches equals the best start in Rock volleyball history; the 1993 squad was also 24-4 at this point in the season en route to a 40-6 final record and both the PSAC and regional championships.
Jen Blasko recorded a team-high 59 kills, 45 digs, nine blocks and three service aces in the Clarion tournament, while Anastasia Urbanik added 56 kills, 11 blocks and three aces.
Louise Schultz contributed 50 kills, nine blocks and eight aces; Katie Greco chipped in with 27 kills and seven blocks; Andrea Campbell added 23 kills and five blocks and Sara Kirsch chalked up 195 assists, 42 digs, 19 kills and six aces.
Other statistical totals of note included Gwen Oberlin's team-high 48 digs, Caitlin Hubbard's 38 digs and 10 aces and Emily Sandora's 37 digs.
