Jen Blasko recorded 18 kills, 13 digs and two blocks Tuesday night to lead a losing effort as The Rock dropped a 3-1 decision at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival California.
Game scores were 30-27, 26-30, 30-24, 30-24.
The loss dropped The Rock's overall record to 27-6 and its PSAC-West mark to 4-3. SRU remains in third place in the division, a spot that if the regular-season were to end today would earn The Rock a berth in the PSAC playoffs.
Lock Haven leads the PSAC-West standings with a 6-1 record, followed by California at 5-2 and The Rock at 4-3. Clarion, Edinboro and Indiana are all 2-5 in division play.
The Rock could clinch a PSAC playoff berth since 1994 with a win Saturday at Edinboro, coupled with a California win over Indiana on Friday and a Lock Haven victory over Clarion on Saturday.
The next home game for SRU will be Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., when the Green and White will entertain Indiana in Senior Night action in Morrow Field House.
