Chris Byers scored on a header in the 88th minute of action Saturday afternoon to give The Rock a 3-2 win over visiting Wheeling Jesuit in non-conference action on James W. Egli Soccer Field.
The win was the fifth straight for SRU, which now owns an 11-6 overall record.
Byers' game-winning goal came off a corner kick by Jeff Hamley and came 20 minutes after Ed Mocarsky converted an assist from Steve Perri into the tying goal.
Justin Riggle scored the first Rock goal in the fifth minute of action to give The Rock the first lead of the game.
Wheeling Jesuit (6-6-3) tied the score at 1-1 in the ninth minute, then took a 2-1 lead with a goal two minutes later.
The Rock outshot Wheeling Jesuit by a 24-13 margin with a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Rock goalie Chris Cook recorded four saves in his second start of the season.
Saturday's game was the final home contest of the season for The Rock, who will travel to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday and then close out the regular-season schedule next Saturday at Bloomsburg.
