Jamar Scales scored a team-high 17 points and Joseph Vines added 12 points in a 60-54 overtime loss at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion.
Scales also grabbed seven rebounds, while Vines snared six.
Dejan Jancic led The Rock in rebounding with eight and Erroll Robinson had six rebounds.
The Rock (1-18 overall, 0-4 PSAC-West) will look to snap its 17-game losing streak on Sunday when it hosts division rival Shippensburg in a 3 p.m. game in Morrow Field House.
Clarion improved its record to 10-7 overall, 2-1 in PSAC-West action.
The Rock trailed by eight points, 23-15, with six minutes left inthe first half but roared back to trim the margin to only three, 26-23, at halftime.
SRU wiped out the deficit and took a 29-28 lead three minutes into the second half of action and outscored Clarion by a 10-6 margin in the next 10 minutes to take a five-point, 39-34, lead with six minutes left in regulation time.
The Rock held the lead for most of the remaining time in regulation, but could not put the finishing touches on the win.
Regulation play ended with a 45-45 tie on the scoreboard.
The Rock never led in overtime, as Clarion scored eight of the first 10 minutes in the extra stanza.
Wednesday's game was the third overtime affair of the season for the young Rock squad. SRU is 0-3 in 0-3 in extra-stanza contests this winter.
