Rock falls again by only one goal, 4-3 at Millersville

Millersville, Pa. - Ashley Hanna scored a goal and had an assist Thursday afternoon to lead The Rock effort in a 4-3 loss at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Millersville (2-5, 2-3).

The loss was the third straight The Rock sustained by only a one-goal margin and dropped SRU's overall record to 0-6 and its PSAC mark to 0-5.

Kathleen Ross converted an assist from Hanna into The Rock's first goal in the 17th minute of action to trim the Millersville lead to 2-1.

Nine minutes later, Heather Hassinger scored an unassisted goal to tie the score at 2-2. That's the way the first half ended.

Millersville scored the first two goals of the second half before Hanna converted an assist from Kara Smith into SRU's third goal in the 67th minute.

Rock goalie Tara Bailey recorded four saves as Millersville outshot SRU by an 18-8 margin.

The Rock returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday, when it will host PSAC rival Kutztown on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
