West Liberty, W. Va. - The ninth-ranked Rock improved its record to 11-1 on Saturday when it swept a doubleheader at NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional rival West Liberty State College by 15-1 and 6-5 scores.
Billy Wolfe paced the first-game effort with a 3-for-4, four-RBI performance that included a double.
Matt Kozusko had two hits and three RBIs for The Rock, while Todd Schickling and Brad Wilson had two hits each and Dave Gonos and Chase Rowe picked up two RBIs each.
Rocky D'Angelo pitched his third complete game in as many starts this spring. He allowed one earned run on six hits, struck out two and walked one.
Gonos' solo home run in the top of the third inning gave SRU a 6-2 lead and accounted for what proved to be the game-winning run in the second game.
Gonos and Phil Butch had two hits each in the second game. Butch picked up a pair of RBIs and Matt Messer slapped a double.
Colin Scott allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits, struck out two and walked three in 4 2/3 innings to pick up his third win in as many starts.
Dan Herisko struck out two and allowed one hit in the final 2 1/3 innings to pick up his third save of the season.
The Rock returns to action on Wednesday when it will travel to Gannon University in Erie for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
SRU then travels to Mansfield for a crucial regional doubleheader on Thursday (1 p.m.) before it will open an eight-game home stand.
The Rock will host Mansfield (March 25), Pitt-Johnstown (March 28), Shepherd (March 30) and Indiana of Pa. (April 1) in doubleheaders during its homestand.
