Feb. 12, 2005

Final Stats

Lock Haven, Pa. - Glenn Reepmeyer exploded for a career-high 36 points and 10 rebounds Saturday afternoon to propel The Rock to a 68-62 win over hosting Lock Haven in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.

Bill Johnson complemented Reepmeyer's output with 10 points and nine rebounds, while Mason Glick added nine points and nine assists.

Saturday's win was the third straight for The Rock, which now has a 7-17 overall record and a 5-4 PSAC-West mark.

With the win, The Rock moved itself into at least a tie for fourth place in the PSAC-West. The significance of that spot is that the top four teams in the division will qualify for the conference playoffs.

The Rock trailed for most of the first eight minutes of action on Saturday, although SRU did tie the score on two occasions, the second of which came at the 12:06 mark when Johnson sank two free throws to tie the score at 15-15.

A jump shot by Reepmeyer 15 seconds later gave The Rock its first lead of the game, 17-15, and SRU never trailed thereafter.

The Rock enjoyed two 10-point leads in the final 11 minutes of the first half, the second double-digit advantage courtesy of a Johnson jump shot at the first-half buzzer that put SRU up by a 36-26 margin.

SRU led by as many as 14 points (43-29 and 52-38) before Lock Haven battled back to cut the deficit to single digits.

The Bald Eagles trailed by only three points, 63-60, with 26 seconds left to play before The Rock iced the win by sinking five of six free throws down the stretch.

The Rock travels to Clarion for an 8 p.m. game on Wednesday before it closes out its home schedule with a 3 p.m. game vs. Shippensburg next Saturday.
