Jamar Scales scored a team-high 17 points off the bench Wednesday night in a losing effort as The Rock dropped an 83-63 decision to visiting Glenville State in non-conference action in Morrow Field House.
The loss dropped The Rock's season record to 1-3. Glenville State recorded its first win in five games this winter.
Brandon Thompson chipped in 12 points and Dejan Jancic grabbed a team-high six rebounds for SRU.
Glenville State led pretty much from start to finish in the game; the only Rock leads were 15-14 and 17-16 midway through the first half.
The visitors held an 11-point, 37-26, advantage at halftime and never led by less than 20 points in the final 10 minutes of play.
SRU returns to action at 3 p.m. Saturday, when it will host East Stroudsburg in the first game of a seven-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference interdivisional "crossover" series.
The Rock entertains Mansfield at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the second game of the aforementioned series.
