Bill Johnson scored a team-high 20 points Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock (1-14) effort in a 68-59 loss to visiting West Chester (11-4) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" game in Morrow Field House.
Johnson's effort earned him a tie with WCU's Matt Kurtz for the game-high scoring total and extended to four games his current streak of scoring 20 or more points.
Johnson has scored 20 or more points in seven of the last eight games, eight of the last 10 games and a total of nine times this season.
Jason Bratten scored 11 points, Glenn Reepmeyer added 10 points and Mason Glick handed out eight assists and grabbed a team-high rebounds to complement Johnson's scoring effort Saturday.
Glick has now handed out eight assists in each of the last three games.
The Rock scored eight of the last 10 points in the first half and held a 30-25 lead at intermission.
SRU remained in the lead until the 14:20 mark when West Chester took a 37-36 edge. The Rock never regained the lead and found itself down by a 12-point, 63-51, margin with 2:45 left to play.
The Rock will conclude its PSAC "crossover" schedule with a 3 p.m. Sunday game in Morrow Field House against Kutztown before travelling to Edinboro for a PSAC-Western Division game on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. tipoff).
Edinboro handed Kutztown a 79-56 setback on Saturday.
