Sophomore setter Sara Kirsch recorded 12 kills, 76 assists, 40 digs, four service aces and four blocks in two games Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock to back-to-back, 3-0 wins over West Virginia rivals Salem International and Glenville State.
The Rock (5-1) beat Salem by game scores of 30-9, 30-23 and 30-25 and subdued Glenville State by 30-24, 30-19, 30-16 scores.
Junior outside hitter Layna Heilman-Houser had 22 kills, 22 digs and four service aces for The Rock; freshman outside hitter Andrea Campbell had 16 kills, two aces and 14 digs and junior middle blocker Megan Smith had 12 kills and a team-high seven blocks.
The Rock returns to action on Sept. 10 when it will take on Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey in first-day action at the University of Charleston (W. Va.) competition.
