Freshman forward Ed Mocarsky scored The Rock's first goal and assisted on the second tally to lead SRU to a 4-2 win Saturday afternoon at Pitt-Johnstown.
The win gave The Rock a 3-0 record this fall, which surpasses SRU's win total for the 2003 season and equals its 2002 total.
Mocarsky converted an assist from sophomore midfielder David Flamer at the 35:25 mark of the first half to account for the game's first score.
Just less than six minutes later, at the 29:34 mark, Mocarsky assisted on freshman midfielder Nick Christy's goal.
Freshman midfielder Dave Keller scored what proved to be the game-winning goal when he nailed a penalty kick 10 minutes into the second half of action.
Twenty minutes later, with 15:06 left to play, UP-J closed the gap to 3-1, but freshman forward Steve Perri's goal two and a half minutes later (12:30 left to play) put The Rock back on top by three goals.
Freshman midfielder Joe Ross was credited with an assist on Perri's goal.
Rock freshman goalie Pat Passewitz was called upon to make only one save en route to his third collegiate victory as The Rock outshot UP-J by a 9-4 margin.
The Rock returns to Johnstown for a 2 p.m. match on Monday against Bloomfield College of New Jersey.
