Sara Kirsch had 35 assists, 16 digs, one solo block and three assisted blocks in a losing cause as SRU dropped a 3-0 (30-20, 30-13, 39-37) decision to visiting PSAC-West rival Clarion.
The loss dropped The Rock's record to 7-10 overall, 0-4 in conference play. Clarion improved to 11-5, 2-2.
Louise Schultz had a team-high 10 kills, while Layna Heilman-Houser added nine kills and nine digs, Katie Greco eight kills and Lindsay Weber seven kills and 11 digs.
Stephanie Skiles recorded a pair of service aces and had 10 digs, while Gwen Oberlin chipped in 10 digs.
The Rock's next action will be this weekend when it will compete in Clarion's eight-team, two-day (Friday and Saturday) tournament.
