Riggle's two goals not enough to hold off Shippensburg

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Justin Riggle scored two goals to give The Rock a 2-0 lead at halftime. But Shippensburg answered with three goals in the second half, including the game-winner in the final minute, to win, 3-2.

The Rock, which entered this week ranked No. 14 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II poll, suffered its second consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) defeat.

The loss drops The Rock's record to 6-2-1 overall, 1-2-0 in PSAC play.

Riggle is second on the team in scoring with four goals and three assists in 2004.

Shippensburg outshot The Rock by a 22-13 margin.

Goalkeeper Pat Passewitz made seven saves in a losing effort.

The Rock will attempt to get back in the win column Wednesday when it travels to St. Vincent for a 4 p.m. game.
