Layna Heilman-Houser recorded 14 kills, 15 digs and three service aces in a losing cause Tuesday night as The Rock dropped a 3-1 decision at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Edinboro.
The loss dropped The Rock's overall record to 6-5 and gave SRU an 0-1 conference record. Edinboro improved to 4-8, 1-0.
Sara Kirsch had 13 kills and 42 assists for The Rock, while Megan Smith added 13 kills and a team-high six blocks. Lindsay Weber had 13 kills and 16 digs and Gwen Oberlin chipped in a team-high 18 digs.
The Rock seeks to snap a three-match losing streak when it visits defending NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional and PSAC champion Lock Haven for a 7 p.m. match on Saturday.
