The Rock lost 12-8 and 5-4 decisions to visiting Mercyhurst in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday on the Harmony Road Complex and now owns an 11-14 overall record.
A third-inning home run by sophomore Shannon Tagliaferri gave The Rock a 7-4 lead in the first game, but Mercyhurst came back with four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-7 lead and never looked back.
In the second game, The Rock scored four runs in the first three innings, but was then held scoreless for the rest of the game.
Mercyhurst scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to record the win and complete the doubleheader sweep.
The Rock will host California U. of Pa. in a 1 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader on Thursday and then travel to California for a 1 p.m. conference doubleheader on Saturday.
