Box Score
Indiana, Pa. -
Senior third baseman Chase Rowe's 3-for-4, six-RBI game at the plate propelled The Rock (29-19 overall, 11-7 conference) to a 9-3 win over hosting Indiana U. of Pa. (12-18, 7-11) and a sweep of Friday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader.
Rowe had an RBI single in the first inning, a two-run double in the second inning and a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
Senior shortstop Nathan Statzer and junior center fielder Matt Kozusko had a pair of hits each in The Rock's 11-hit attack, with Kozusko and senior catcher/DH Joe Pascarella picking up one RBI each.
Junior right-hander Rocky D'Angelo pitched a complete game to improve his record to 5-1. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits, struck out two and walked one.
The Rock and Indiana will close out their four-game season series with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at Jack Critchfield Park in Slippery Rock.
The Rock is assured of no worse than a third-place finish in the PSAC-West race and can move into a tie for second place with a sweep of Indiana on Saturday, coupled with a Shippensburg sweep of California.
Regardless of the outcome of Saturday's Shippensburg at California twinbill, The Rock can not earn a berth in the four-team PSAC playoffs. California has the tiebreaker edge due to its 3-1 mark against SRU in head-to-head meetings this spring.
But The Rock still entertains hopes of earning a berth in the NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional tournament. The Rock is the defending regional champion.
