Rock records sweep at Lock Haven

Lock Haven, Pa. - Senior third baseman Chase Rowe had a pair of hits in each game Saturday to lead The Rock to a 5-1, 5-0 doubleheader sweep of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Lock Haven.

The wins improved The Rock's overall record to 24-18 and evened its PSAC-West mark at 7-7.

Lock Haven fell to 15-22, 2-12.

Rowe had a double and single in first game and added a single and a solo home run in the second game.

Senior center fielder Matt Kozusko and junior first baseman Billy Wolfe each also had a pair of hits in the first game, with Kozusko smacking a solo home run. Senior left fielder Ben Marzullo and freshman second baseman Phi Butch added a double each.

Marzullo had a double and home run and picked up three RBIs in the second game.

Senior southpaw Steve Norris and junior righthander Rocky D'Angelo both pitched complete games for The Rock.

Norris allowed one earned run on five hits, struck out three and walked one as he evened his season record at 3-3.

D'Angelo tossed a three-hit shutout, struck out six and walked four en route to his fourth win in five decisions this spring.

The Rock will close out its four-game series vs. Lock Haven with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday at Jack Critchfield Park in Slippery Rock.
