Senior left fielder Ben Marzullo had three hits Sunday night to lead The Rock to an 8-6 win over NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional rival Alderson-Broaddus at Terry Park.
The win was The Rock's fourth straight and improved SRU's season record to 7-3. The win also gave The Rock a 2-1 edge in the season series against the Battlers, who fell to 2-7 with the loss.
Senior center fielder Matt Kozusko added a pair of hits, including a double, for The Rock, while senior third baseman Chase Rowe had a double.
Junior right-hander Nick Armstrong was The Rock's starting and winning pitcher. He pitched five-plus innings before giving way to redshirt sophomore southpaw Colin Scott, who recorded his second save of the season.
The Rock takes on Bloomfield College of New Jersey at 9 a.m. on Monday before getting a well-deserved day off on Tuesday. Monday's game will be the seventh in the span of four days for The Rock, which is now 5-1 on its annual spring-break trip to Florida.
