Rock closes out spring trip with 13-7 win over UMass-Lowell

Fort Myers, Fla. - Senior left fielder Ben Marzullo had three hits and seniors Matt Kozusko and Chase Rowe added a home run each Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock to a 13-7 win over UMass-Lowell in the final game of SRU's annual spring trip.

The win gave The Rock a 9-5 mark in Florida and improved SRU's overall record to 11-7.

Junior right-hander Nick Armstrong was The Rock's starting and winning pitcher. He threw four and two-thirds innings before giving way to senior southpaw Steve Norris, who pitched the final two and one-third innings.

The Rock is scheduled to open its 2004 home season on Thursday, March 18, with a 1 p.m. non-conference doubleheader vs. Point Park College at Jack Critchfield Park.

That starts a string of five straight doubleheaders The Rock is scheduled to host in the span of nine days.
