Rock falls twice to Winona State

Fort Myers, Fla. - The Rock lost both games of a non-conference baseball doubleheader vs. Winona State of Minnesota on Wednesday.

The Rock held a 10-1 lead in the fifth inning of the first game, only to see Winona State score 12 unearned runs in the final two frames to snatch a 17-10 decision.

Redshirt freshman right-hander Derek Blyzwick (1-1) was tagged with the loss.

SRU lost a 7-1 decision in the second game. Senior southpaw Steve Norris (0-2) was the starting and losing pitcher.

The Rock is now 8-5 overall and 6-3 on its annual spring-break trip to Florida.

SRU will continue its spring-trip schedule on Thursday with a pair of single games at Terry Park, 4 p.m. against Southwest Minnesota State and 7 p.m. against South Dakota State.
