Layna Heilman-Houser earned all-tournament honors as The Rock won four of five matches in the two-day Holiday Inn Classic hosted by Clarion University and shared the tournament title with the host team.
Heilman-Houser had 65 kills, 15 service aces, 68 digs and nine blocks in the five matches.
Lindsay Weber had a total of 50 kills, four aces, 96 digs and 14 blocks. She had 41 digs in The Rock's semifinal win over Alderson-Broaddus.
Sara Kirsch added 30 kills, 216 assists, 16 service aces and 46 digs; Katie Greco had 46 kills and 11 blocks; Gwen Oberlin added four aces and 66 digs; Stephanie Skiles had nine aces and 37 digs and Megan Smith had 26 kills and 30 blocks.
SRU opened tournament action with back-to-back, 3-0 wins over Marietta College of Ohio and Mount Olive College of North Carolina on Friday.
The Rock then dropped a 3-2 match to Alderson-Broaddus (W. Va.) in the third and final game of pool play on Saturday.
SRU bounced back to defeat West Liberty State by a 3-0 margin in the quarterfinal round of the championship competition, then avenged the earlier loss to Alderson-Broaddus with a 3-2 win over the Battlers in semifinal action.
The championship match between Clarion and Slippery Rock was not played due to the latenesss of the hour, according to SRU head coach Laurie Lokash.
The Rock now owns an 11-11 record.
