Rock battles regionally ranked Clarion to the final horn

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Junior guard Bill Johnson had 16 points to lead The Rock in a closely contested battle with regionally ranked Clarion in Morrow Field House.

The Rock wound up dropping a 64-58 decision in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action, but not before taking the region's No. 6 ranked team to the limit.

Sophomore center Glenn Reepmeyer added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while senior guard Dave Johnson had 11 points and five rebounds.

The loss dropped The Rock's record to 4-13 overall, 1-2 in PSAC-West action. Clarion improved to 11-3, 1-1.

The Rock is idle for one week before hosting Indiana U. of Pa. in a PSAC-West game on Jan. 28. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
