Ashland, Ohio - Junior guard Bill Johnson scored 24 points Monday night, but it wasn't enough as The Rock dropped a 71-70 decision to Lincoln Memorial College of Illinois in the consolation game of the AmeriHost Classic at Ashland University.

Johnson was 7-of-12 from the field, 1-of-4 from 3-point range and 9-of-10 at the foul line in 26 minutes of action.

Freshman guard Justen Stubblefield was the only other Rock player to score in double figures; Stubblefield scored 15 points.

Sophomore forward Glenn Reepmeyer grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for The Rock, which dropped to 3-8 on the year.

The Rock trailed by 10 points, 40-30, at halftime and was down by 15 points, 63-48, at the midway mark of the final 20-minute period before roaring back.

A pair of free throws by freshman guard Gavin Prosser with 1:02 left to play gave The Rock a 70-69 edge, but Lincoln Memorial got a basket off an offensive rebound by Ike Poe with 10 seconds left to win the game.

The Rock returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Kutztown for a 1 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference interdivisional game. SRU is at Cheyney the following day for another 1 p.m. PSAC "crossover" contest.
