Indiana University of Pa. scored a pair of first-half goals and added one second-half tally Saturday afternoon and blanked hosting Slippery Rock University, 3-0, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's field hockey action at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
With the win, Indiana improved to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in PSAC play. The Rock fell to 1-8, 1-7.
Amy Pincock converted an assist from Kandice Pyles into the game's first goal at the 30:18 mark of the first half. Pyles then took a pass from Wendy Strohl at the 32:43 mark to make it 2-0.
Becky Frank scored the final goal of the game on an assist from Chrissy Hill at the 65:44 mark in the second half.
Indiana outshot The Rock by a 16-8 margin. Indiana goalie Jamie Parell was credited with one save, while Rock goalie Tara Bailey made three saves.
The Rock returns to action on Monday when it will host Bloomsburg at 3:30 p.m. at Thompson Stadium.
