Kasnevich Field opened in 2004 and was officially dedicated in the name of former coach and SRU Hall of Famer Jan Kasnevich in 2022. It was completely renovated with a multi-million dollar project and reopened in 2025 as one of the finest Division II softball facilities in the country.

The stadium renovation in 2025 was a complete rebuild with the facility getting an all-turf field surface, new dugouts, new bleachers, a 500-square foot climate-controlled press box with a film deck, LED stadium lights and a separate building with ample restrooms and a concession stand.

The bullpens were relocated to the dugout areas on both the first and third base sides and were equipped with the same full turf surface as the playing field.

The addition of LED stadium lights in 2025 makes the facility available for evening and night games for the first time in Slippery Rock history, a benefit The Rock used in their very first games in the new facility when extra innings were needed to decide game two of a doubleheader sweep against Wheeling University, March 19, 2025.

The 2025 renovations will make Slippery Rock a first-choice destination for softball events in the region, including high school regional and state playoff events, camps, clinics and other tournaments.

In addition to the stadium, Kasnevich Field and the SRU Softball Complex also houses The Rock’s locker room, coaches offices and a batting cage facility. It is one of the only softball facilities in the region that features a locker room complex at the site of the facility.

Each player's locker includes a large compartment for hanging clothes, a foot locker for shoes and cleats and a lockable compartment for valuables.

Men's and women's restrooms and a guest waiting area complete with a flat screen television are located near the lobby of the building. All softball offices and locker areas are located on the right side of the building when entering from the front door.

Players can use the locker room facility for watching film or doing homework as the building is complete with wired and wireless Internet access.

The office and locker room building at the complex was constructed in 2004 and also includes a large deck with a view of the field.
