Slippery Rock University junior guard Erica Aiello helped The Rock women’s basketball team to a 1-1 record last week. In two games, Aiello averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the field overall, 44.4 percent from three-point range and 90 percent from the foul line. In Slippery Rock’s 75-65 win against Mansfield, Aiello went for 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting in addition to a 5-for-6 showing from the free throw line. She concluded her week by scoring 12 points and matching a season-high in assists with five in a close loss at Lock Haven. For the year, Aiello ranks 10th in the PSAC in assists per game.
