Powis won her first collegiate cross country meet last Friday when she kicked from 100 meters back in the final half mile of the race and leaned at the line to win the Mack Cooper Classic by less than three-tenths of a second over a runner from Carnegie Mellon. Her win helped pace The Rock to a second place finish in the team standings.
