Slippery Rock University Athletics

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University senior standouts Roland Rivers III and Kacey Raible have been named the RockAthletics.com Athletes of the Year for the 2019-20 academic year.
 
The RockAthletics.com Athletes of the Year are selected by the SRU athletic communication office and are recognized following the conclusion of the spring sports seasons each year.
 
Rivers became the first Slippery Rock player to ever win the Harlon Hill Trophy as the Division II National Player of the Year and was a first team All-American after shattering SRU and NCAA Division II records while quarterbacking The Rock to a 13-1 record that included a PSAC title and a trip to the national semifinals.
 
Raible earned three first team All-Region honors in a shortened year after finishing in the top 10 at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships in cross country and then posting one of the five best 800-meter and mile times in the region during the indoor track season. She also anchored a PSAC relay title and helped SRU win the PSAC team title indoor.
