Megan Jo Ramage placed 18th in the women's 1000-yard freestyle event Thursday night in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships at Cumberland Valley High School.
She was the only Rock swimmer to compete on the opening day of the four-day competition.
Ramage's time of 11:09.19 was 3.81 seconds slower than her seed time of 11:05.38, which was the No. 17 time on the pre-meet "psych sheet."
Ramage is one of seven Rock swimmers scheduled to compete in this year's PSAC Championships.
Rock entries in Friday's events include:
The 200 freestyle relay team of Mary Ann McCauley, Raquel Woerner, Lauren Hervatin and Heather Walbright (seeded 11th, 1:45.12);
Walbright in the 500 freestyle (seeded 32nd, 5:31.21);
Woerner (seeded 28th, 25.47) and McCauley (seeded 38th, 26.38) in the 50 freestyle;
400 medley relay of Beth Choike, Ramage, McCauley and Walbright (seeded 12th, 4:18.83).
Saturday's Rock entries include:
200 medley relay of Choike, Ramage, McCauley and Woerner (seeded 13th, 1:59.55);
Ramage in the 400 individual medley (seeded 13th, 4:50.50);
McCauley (seeded 7th, 1:00.52) and Woerner (seeded 25th, 1:08.34) in the 100 butterfly;
Walbright in the 200 freestyle (seeded 22nd, 2:01.16);
800 freestyle relay of Katie Pietkiewicz, Hervatin, Choike and Walbright (seeded 10th, 8:27.35).
Sunday's, final-day Rock entrants include:
Ramage in the 1650 freestyle (seeded 17th, 18:48.30);
Walbright (seeded 38th, 56.57) and Woerner (seeded 40th, 56.86) in the 100 freestyle;
McCauley in the 200 butterfly (seeded 21st, 2:21.38);
400 freestyle relay of McCauley, Hervatin, Woerner and Walbright (seeded 11th, 3:45.58).
The Rock and second-year head coach Jim Yeamans seek to improve upon their 10th-place team finish of a year ago.
