Tyler McIntosh was named the assistant director of athletic communication at Slippery Rock Sept. 5, 2014 after spending two years as the sports information director at Concord University (W.Va.).
In his role at Slippery Rock, McIntosh provides primary coverage for field hockey, volleyball, women's tennis, men's basketball and baseball and assists with the coverage of men's soccer, women's soccer and softball. He also provides supervision for a graduate assistant and multiple student-workers while assisting in all daily operations of the athletic communication office.
McIntosh is in his second stint at The Rock after serving as the sports information graduate assistant from 2010-12 before accepting the SID job at Concord. While in the role of GA, he covered the SRU field hockey, volleyball, softball and track and field teams, while also providing support for all other programs.
During his two-year absence from Slippery Rock, McIntosh helped transform the sports information department at Concord as its first full-time sports information director. He provided the primary coverage for all Concord sports while supervising a graduate assistant. McIntosh oversaw the redevelopment of the official website at Concord and was integral in providing leadership and development for the Mountain East Conference website as well.

McIntosh was active within the Mountain East, providing support during the baseball championship tournament in each of his years at Concord. He also handled the media relations for Concord's transition from the former West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to the MEC.

Prior to joining Slippery Rock the first time in 2010, McIntosh served as a full-time intern at Division II Wayne State University during the 2009-10 academic year.

While at Wayne State, McIntosh served as the primary sports information contact for the men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s fencing teams.

Prior to his internship at Wayne State, McIntosh worked as a student assistant in the sports information office at Division I Kent State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in newspaper journalism in the spring of 2008.

He earned his master's degree from Slippery Rock in parks and resource management in 2012.

McIntosh, a native of Salineville, Ohio, is a member of CoSIDA and resides in Slippery Rock.
