Slippery Rock University Athletics

     Junior Vera McDaniel will look to improve her standings as one of The Rock’s top sprinters. During the 2007 indoor season McDaniel stood atop the podium for both the 55m dash and 200m dash. Outdoors, McDaniel holds school records in both the 100m and 200m events and was a 2006 National Qualifier in the 200m dash. During the 2007 outdoor season McDaniel was unable to capitalize on her sprinting abilities because of injuries. But the outlook looks good for the 2008 season and it appears that McDaniel will once again be a force in the PSAC short sprint.   

High School: Lettered four years in Track...District 6 Champs in 2004.... Player of the year in 2005..... All-Conference team in 2003, 2004, 2005..... Lettered four years in track...... Lettered three years in basketball...Student council...SADD...National Honor Society...Social Work major.
