Tavares Jackson, a former NCAA Division I assistant coach, enters his sixth season as the top assistant to Rock head coach Laurel Heilman.
Coach Jackson joined The Rock staff after serving one season each at Eastern Illinois University (2003-04) and Austin Peay State University (2002-03). Prior to joining the Austin Peay State staff, Jackson was graduate assistant at Division II Bemidji State (Minn.) for two seasons (2000-02).
Jackson received his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota-Crookston and is currently finishing the requirements for his Master’s degree in Sports Studies from Bemidji State.
Jackson played two seasons of basketball at Minnesota-Crookston after a two-year junior college playing career at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin.
