The 2025-26 season marks the third year of head coach Ryenn Micaletti leading the Slippery Rock University women's basketball program. Micaletti became the 17th head coach in SRU women's basketball history May 12, 2023.
 
Micaletti, a former SRU assistant, came back to Slippery Rock with 12 years of collegiate experience, including seven years at the Division I level with the U.S. Navy Academy, Longwood University and St. Louis University.
 
CAREER AT A GLANCE
• Micaletti is uniquely familiar with Division II basketball and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in particular, having spent time both as a player and as a coach in the PSAC Western Division.
• In addition to being an alumna, and student-athlete, at Seton Hill University, Micaletti was also formerly an assistant at both The Rock and Indiana University (Pa.).
• During her time on the sidelines, Micaletti has helped mentor 26 all-conference honorees including 2014-15 PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year D’Asia Chambers (Slippery Rock) and 2023-24 PSAC West Freshman of the Year Regan Atkins in addition to two-time (2020-21, 2021-22) Big South Defensive Player of the Year, and one-time Big South Player of the Year Akila Smith (Longwood) as well as 2022-23 A-10 Defensive Player of the Year Brooke Flowers (St. Louis). 
• A proven winner, teams with Micaletti on their coaching staffs has compiled an overall record of 216-175 with 11 postseason appearances and four conference titles.
• Micaletti is a 2024 Lawrence County Historical Society Sports Hall of Fame inductee. 
 
SEASON-BY-SEASON BREAKDOWN
2024-25

• Led Slippery Rock to a 7-19 overall record and a 4-16 mark in PSAC competition.
• SRU’s five-win improvement from its 2023-24 record represented the sixth best win/loss improvement in the 17-team PSAC.
• Slippery Rock ranked fifth in the PSAC in 3-pointers made per game (5.9).
• Regan Atkins, Kayley Joseph-Bernard and Deryn Moye were named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Team.
• Atkins earned All-PSAC West recognition.

2023-24
• Was announced as the 17th head coach in SRU women’s basketball history on May 12, 2023.
• Regan Atkins became Slippery Rock's first PSAC West Freshman of the Year in 24 years, ranking third all-time among SRU freshmen with a team-high 381 points.
• Kristina Donza and Deryn Moye named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
• Picked up her first career win as a head coach Dec. 19, 2023 with a 49-32 victory versus Shippensburg at home.

THE ROCK IN THE CLASSROOM
• Under Micaletti, Slippery Rock women’s basketball has produced stellar team GPAs of 3.419 in 2023-24 and 3.520 in 2024-25.
• On her watch, Rock women’s basketball has also had five athletes earn CSC Academic All-District honors in addition to 22 being named PSAC Scholar-Athletes.
 
CAREER PATH
• Following her playing career, Micaletti entered the coaching profession as an assistant at Point Park University for two seasons as she helped the Pioneers to a 48-14 record a pair of NAIA Tournament appearances before moving to the NCAA Division II level at Indiana University (Pa.).
 
• In her lone season at IUP, Micaletti helped to lead the Crimson Hawks to an 18-10 record and a berth into the PSAC Tournament. At the conclusion of the 2013-14 season Micaletti came to Slippery Rock for the first time as head coach Bobby McGraw’s lead assistant.
 
• She spent two years as an assistant at SRU under McGraw from 2014-16, helping to lead the program to its first PSAC playoff appearance in a decade and helping to mentor one of the best players in program history, D’Asia Chambers, who is still playing professionally overseas.
 
• After two years at Slippery Rock, Micaletti rejoined former coworker and IUP assistant coach Rebecca Tillett at the U.S. Naval Academy, making the jump to the Division I level as an assistant coach. She worked at Navy from 2016-20, helping the Midshipmen to back-to-back Patriot League runner-up honors and two trips to the WNIT Tournament.
 
• Tillett was hired as the head coach at Longwood University and Micaletti joined her in 2020 and took the next step in her career when she earned the title of associate head coach. She helped lead Longwood to a 36-19 overall record in two seasons that included an NCAA Tournament victory over Mount St. Mary’s and a Big South Conference title in 2022. Longwood had five players earns postseason honors in each of Micaletti’s two seasons, which included the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honorees in 2022.
 
• Following the 2021-22 season, Micaletti followed Tillett to St. Louis University, where she again served as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. At St. Louis, Micaletti helped to quickly turn the program around, leading the Billikens to their first A-10 Tournament title and first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history in just her first year on the staff.
 
PLAYING CAREER
• Micaletti played collegiately at Seton Hill University for four years (2007-11). She appeared in 76 games over her final three seasons as the Griffins became fulltime members of NCAA Division II.
 
• She helped the Griffins to go 45-16 with an NCAA Tournament appearance in her final two seasons.
 
PERSONAL
• Native of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
• Earned her undergraduate degree in history with a certification in secondary education from Seton Hill in 2011.
• Completed master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Point Park in 2016.
• Resides in New Castle with her wife Kyria, daughter Rhyenn and son Roman.
