Jazmyne Frost

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant
Former Slippery Rock University women's basketball standout Jazmyne Frost will serve as a graduate assistant coach for a second season at The Rock during the 2015-16 season.

"We are incredibly fortunate that Jazmyne decided to forego what would have been a very successful playing career overseas to begin her quest to become a full time collegiate coach," head coach Bobby McGraw said. "She has the respect of her former teammates and a locker room presence which will immediately gain the respect of the newcomers. As a first-year head coach, I am so blessed to have a young lady like Jazmyne in the graduate assistant role."

In her first season as a coach, Frost helped The Rock to an 11-16 record and a berth into the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament in 2014-15. The 11 wins were tied for the most victories in a single-season since 2005-06. 2014-15 also marked Slippery Rock’s first postseason appearance since the 2005-06 campaign.

Frost played at Slippery Rock for two seasons after transferring to SRU from Niagara University prior to her junior season. In two years at Slippery Rock, she started all 35 games played and compiled per game averages of 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks in addition to shooting 45.2 percent from the field.

As a senior in 2013-14, Frost was one of just eight players in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference to average at least 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. She also made 100 free throws in her final season of eligibility, which ranked seventh in Slippery Rock single-season history.

While on McGraw's staff, Frost will assist with all facets of the Slippery Rock program.
