Steven Rerick will begin his fourth season at Slippery Rock as an assistant coach focusing on goalkeepers after serving as the graduate assistant on head coach Kevin Wilhelm's staff the previous two seasons.

2019 was a year of growth for Slippery Rock as SRU finished with the season with an 8-9-2 record. The eight wins for SRU were the most since the 2015 season, good enough to secure the first PSAC Tournament berth for The Rock since 2015.

Rerick assisted in coaching four All-PSAC West selections including Abdallah Bangura (first team), Dan Schearer (first team), Alejandro Fernandez (first team) and Mo Kanani (second team).

The Slippery Rock offense scored its most goals since 2015 with 28 scores while the SRU defense ranked as one of the top units in the PSAC, ranking second in shutouts (8), fourth in opponents scoring average (1.26 goals per game) and tied for fourth in goals allowed with 24.

In his first season as a collegiate coach, Rerick helped lead The Rock to a 6-10-2 overall record and a 4-6-1 conference mark, narrowly missing a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament berth.

Prior to his appointment as the graduate assistant, Rerick started 36 of 39 games in a four-year playing career at Slippery Rock. He tallied a career record of 20-15-1 and was a member of two PSAC Championship teams. He totaled 193 saves, a 0.785 save percentage, a 1.48 goals against average and nine career shutouts.

A PSAC Scholar Athlete, Rerick received his bachelor’s degree in public health and psychology.

Rerick assists with all facets of the program while working towards his master’s degree in public health.
