Daniel Smee

Daniel Smee joined the men's soccer coaching staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2013-14 academic year.

Smee, a native of Newcastle, England, joined the Slippery Rock staff after an outstanding Division II playing career at West Virginia Wesleyan.

Smee was a three-year team captain for the Bobcats and was a three-time All-WVIAC selection as a midfielder. He earned second team honors as a junior in 2011 and was a first team selection as a sophomore and again as a senior.

After a breakout senior season in 2012, in which Smee led Division II with 15 assists, he was named to first team Daktronics All-Region honors, second team Daktronics All-America honors and second team All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

In addition to his 15 assists, Smee tallied seven goals as a senior to finish the year with 29 points.

On top of his athletic success, Smee was also a standout in the classroom, earning first team Capital One Academic All-District and third team Capital One Academic All-America honors as a senior.

Smee will assist head coach Michael Bonelli with all facets of the program.
