Emily Johnson joined the Slippery Rock coaching staff as a volunteer in 2020 after spending four years on the roster as distance runner.
Johnson finished her undergraduate work in exercise science at Slippery Rock in 2019 before beginning work in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program while competing in her final year of eligibility at SRU in 2019-20.
As a student-athlete at SRU, Johnson was a four-time PSAC Championship participant for The Rock cross country team. She scored for SRU at both the PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Region Championship meets her senior year and wrapped up her cross country career as a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
Now in her second year of the DPT program, Johnson will assist coach Papa with the cross country team during the fall and with the distance runners during the winter and spring, when her academic schedule will allow.
