Stacey Hart, formerly the head field hockey coach at St. Vincent College, was hired in July 2006 as the head women's field hockey and lacrosse coach at Slippery Rock University.
She coached the lacrosse team for one season (2006) before relinquishing the reins in December 2007 to focus her attention on field hockey duties.
Ironically, Hart's first game as The Rock's field hockey coach was a Sept. 2, 2006, game in Latrobe against her former players.
Coach Hart joined The Rock staff after leading St. Vincent during its inaugural season of intercollegiate varsity field hockey competition in 2005.
Prior to that, she served as head coach of the Team Pittsburgh high school indoor field hockey team (2004-06) and as assistant coach of the St. Vincent lacrosse team (2005).
Coach Hart also served as goal keeper coach for the Team Golden Triangle field hockey club team (2005), head coach of the Greensburg Central Catholic High School field hockey team (2004) and assistant field hockey coach at Hartwick (N.Y.) College (2002-04).
She also has experience as an instructor at the Hartwick College Field Hockey Camp and Nike Field Hockey Camp at SUNY Oneonta.
Coach Hart is a native of North Easton, Mass., and a graduate of Hartwick, where she earned all-region, all-state and all-conference honors in field hockey.
She was a member of two Hartwick teams that competed in the NCAA field hockey playoffs, highlighted by an appearance in the 1996 Division III national finals.
Coach Hart received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hartwick in May 1999 as a studio art major, art history minor with concentrations in glass blowing, sculpture and painting.
