Sal Marsico
played for Slippery Rock under Egli from 1965-68 and started in 41 games in his final three years.
 
He was a key component of a Rock team that won 25 games and made regional playoffs in 1966 and 1968, and earned an NCAA Tournament bid in 1966. Marsico was also named team captain in his senior season. .
 
Following an impressive college career and graduating with a bachelor's degree in education, Marsico played in the late 1960's and early 1970's as a member of the Keystone League. He also coached various youth teams. Marsico also earned his master's degree from Slippery Rock in 1972.
 
While coaching, Marsico also became a school teacher. From 1969-2003, he taught in the North Hills School District and from 1970-2004 was the head soccer coach for the varsity team and an assistant softball coach for the varsity team from 1988-2004. Wearing many different hats, Marsico was also soccer official from 1970-2010.
 
Along with being added to the Ring of Honor, Marsico adds this to a long list of accolades that include being a three-time section coach of the year and a northern area coach of the year. Under his watch, his teams have finished second in the WPIAL Championships twice, and have also been the runner up for the WPIAL Western Region.
 
Marsico and his wife, Patricia, have three kids, Julia, Jeff and Faye.
