Roberta Greene
was a pioneer for women's soccer at Slippery Rock playing as a member of the SRU Women's Soccer Club from 1978-1982.
 
Greene aided the team from 1978 through 1983 as not only a player, but also a coach. For the club, she earned recognition as the Budweiser National Athlete of the Week award and earned various other playing and coach awards.
 
After earning her bachelor's degree in health and physical education at The Rock, Greene began work for the Pine Bush Central School District. She remained there from 1983-1996 as an educator and a varsity soccer and volleyball coach as well as a junior varsity basketball coach. While at Pine Bush, she also earned her master's degree in elementary education from SUNY New Paltz in 1988.
 
Greene would later move up the education later in 1996 becoming the District director of health, physical education and athletics for the Washingtonville Central School District of New York. She also earned a certificate of advanced study from SUNY New Paltz in the same year.
 
She remained with the Washingtonville Central School District until her retirement in 2016. In her time there, she also became the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction and Guidance Services and also the Superintendent of Schools.
 
Greene is added to a Ring of Honor group that already has a plethora of individuals who have advanced their careers in education. She currently resides in Goshen, New York.
