Kelly Blake was a standout defender for four years from 2003 through 2006 during one of the most dominant runs in Slippery Rock women’s soccer history. Over her four years with the program, SRU went 51-18-8 (.701), won two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships and finished 12th in the nation in 2003.

Blake appeared in 79 games and started 59 consecutive contests over her final three years at The Rock. While at Slippery Rock, Blake spearheaded a back line that allowed just 82 goals over four years (0.98 per game), the second fewest total among all PSAC schools during that time.

The Harriman, New York native was named a team captain as a junior and senior. She concluded her collegiate career by earning first team All-PSAC honors as a senior prior to graduating from The Rock with a bachelor’s degree in environmental geoscience in 2007.

Blake, who played semi-professional soccer in New York following the end of her collegiate career, earned her master’s degree in geology from Temple University in 2011.

Since 2011, Blake has worked as a geologist for the United States Navy as a civilian employee, dealing with research and exploration of geothermal resources on government land.
