Now the youngest Ring of Honor inductee, Emer Flatley was a four-year standout for coach Noreen Herlihy from 2009-12. Flatley, appeared in 78 games over her career, making 71 starts. Despite serving primarily as a defender, Flatley still managed to compile 10 points on three goals and four assists. SRU gave up just 66 goals over Flatley’s four years at The Rock, the fourth fewest among all Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference teams over that four-year period.

For her efforts, Flatley, who was a two-year team captain, was recognized as an All-American as a junior and senior in addition to earning all-region honors three times and All-PSAC accolades three times.

Flatley played in integral role in arguably the greatest four-year run in Rock women’s soccer history. During her collegiate career, Flatley helped lead The Rock to a stellar 54-19-13 record, one PSAC title (2012) and three consecutive berths to the NCAA Tournament including a pair of trips to the third round in 2011 and 2012.

Slippery Rock finished the season ranked in the top 25 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in each of Flatley’s last three years of eligibility.

Flatley received her bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Slippery Rock in 2013. After graduating from Slippery Rock, Flatley served as an assistant coach at the University of Akron for Herlihy for one season before moving to Philadelphia to teach health and physical education in addition to coaching club soccer.
