
Dan Campbell enters the Ring of Honor after an extraordinary career at The Rock in which he established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in SRU men’s soccer history.
Campbell was a four-year starter (1986-89) at The Rock for head coaches Jim Egli, Tim Robinson and Jim Herlinger. Campbell, a team captain from 1987-89, has the distinction of being the only player in program history to have earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors four times.
Campbell recorded school records in career saves (572) over 6,230 minutes during his career to go with 27 wins, the third highest total in program history and 14 shutouts. He also ranks third in program history in saves per game (8.54), fourth in save percentage (.825) and 12th in goals against average (2.64)
Since graduating from The Rock in 1991, Campbell has spent seven years at George Junior Republic, seven years as the health and physical education teacher at the Holy Family Institute and since 2004 has been the operations manager at Cleantown USA.
Campbell also spent time as a soccer coach after graduating from SRU, first as an assistant with The Rock in 1992 and then as the head coach at George Junior in 1993, where he was named the Coach of the Year.
Campbell and his wife, Niki, have two children: Jack and Carly. Niki and Carly are both Slippery Rock graduates.
