The youngest of the 2016 Ring of Honor induction class, Greg Blum was one of the most dominant goalkeepers in Slippery Rock history.

A four-year starter at The Rock (2007-10), Blum was 46-23-4 with 21 shutouts over his career to go with a .813 save percentage and a 1.15 goals against average. The 21 shutouts rank ninth amongst all goalies in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference history. He helped lead Slippery Rock to three PSAC Tournament berths, two appearances in the NCAA Tournament and one PSAC championship.

His best season came in 2009, when he posted a record of 17-4-1 to lead The Rock to a PSAC title and a trip to the NCAA Round of 16. His eight shutouts in 2009 are tied for the eighth most in a single-season in PSAC history.

Blum was recognized for his collegiate accomplishments by being named a first team All-PSAC performer three times, a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Atlantic Region Team honoree three times and a NSCAA All-American once in 2009.

Since graduating from Slippery Rock in 2011, Blum has played professionally for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League, served as an instructor at the Riverhounds’ Goalkeeper Academy and as an assistant coach at Carnegie Mellon University.

Greg and his wife Amanda, who is a pharmacy technician at the Western Psychiatric Clinic and a doctorial candidate at Duquesne University, reside in Pittsburgh.

2015 Ring of Honor inductee Jeremy Deighton will introduce Greg tonight. Â
