The following is a blog written by senior guard Erinne Cunningham.

As my senior season comes to a close I would like to take a little time to look back at all the moments I had here as a Slippery Rock student athlete.

The first time I stepped onto the SRU campus I was pleased to see how friendly everyone was. Within the first hour of being part of SRU I knew I was going to enjoy my time here, and I was not wrong!

I have not once regretted the decision to come here and be part of The Rock. I am so grateful for the opportunity.

Being a member of the women’s basketball program here has meant so much to me. I have met some of the best people and gained some valuable relationships throughout my two years. It was not always easy but in the end it helped challenge me to become a better athlete and person.

I have always considered myself a winner, and although my team and I haven’t won as many games as we would have liked, I still have won in so many other ways by being part of this program. We have all put in countless hours of practice, weights and film. Within these hours came pain, sacrifice and commitment but it also came with enjoyable memories I will have forever; from experiencing the D1 level by playing our exhibition games at Michigan University and Bowling Green University or going to a haunted hay ride in the middle of nowhere.

My love of this sport has reached an all-time high by being here and I will forever be grateful for making the decision to come to The Rock. I would like to thank my teammates, my fellow senior teammates and my coaches especially for giving me a memorable senior year. Good luck in the future and keep playing with your hearts.
