As our fall ball season has come to an end and we are all very proud of how the team competed. Our record overall was 13-1 after playing in four tournaments. This is a very big accomplishment for us that we intend on keeping into the spring season. Doing so well has giving the team motivation to continue to work hard in the winter preseason and in preparation for the spring.
The team has just announced the 2013 team captains. They consist of senior Jami Merick, senior Holly Webb, and Junior Kourtney Pike. These are three leaders that the team had voted for and feels will be able to lead the team in a long and successful spring season.
As we all know, the east coast was just recently affected by Hurricane Sandy. The Slippery Rock women’s lacrosse has many members whose families and homes had been crucially affected by this event and has been getting through these tough times in their lives with the support of their team members. We all know how this disaster has affected so many lives and feel it is important to try and help these communities of our teammates and families as best as possible.
The team has organized and is sponsoring a speed dating fundraiser here at the university that will raise money to help victims of this disaster. We feel it is the best way to help out those that have been suffering from this event.
