SRU Men’s Basketball team members making impact in the local community

John Bossle
Former National Association of Basketball Coaches "Honors Court" and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "Scholar-Athlete" award winner John Bossle (right photo), a member of SRU's men's basketball program from 2010-12, was recently named as one of the SRU Admissions Office's graduate assistants. We are all very proud of John’s academic achievements at SRU.  John was a great teammate and his contributions to our team do not show up in the boxscore.  John is a winner and it’s nice to continue to see him every day. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with a minor in information systems while playing here at The Rock. He is working towards his Master of Arts degree in SRU's nationally-recognized Student Affairs program.

Jade Burka
Jade Burka
Jade Burka was another PSAC "Scholar-Athlete" who spent six years as a basketball player, football player and graduate assistant on the SRU campus. Jade succeeded in all his endeavors on and off the court while at SRU. Jade’s success did not go unnoticed.  He had many companies interested in his services before accepting a position in the Target corporate office. Jade is an Executive Team Leader of Assets Protection.
I am excited for Jade since he will have the opportunity to work for one of the great companies in the U.S. and still live in western Pennsylvania. We will miss seeing Jade on a daily basis at SRU. He played a big role in the transformation of our program. Jade earned both his undergraduate degree in journalism and master's degree in criminal justice from SRU.

Congratulations to Coach Bartlett and the rest of the 1989-90 SRU Men's Basketball Team and coaches for being honored last Saturday during the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremonies! It was nice to see the team’s accomplishments publicly recognized. The friendships and memories made for a great weekend!

Until next time,

GO ROCK!!
