Welcome to a new blog space for updates from the athletic director!
What an exciting time of the year. Everyone is going back to school and all of the fall athletic events are in full swing. I could not think of a better time of the year, if you are a fan of cross country, field hockey, football, soccer or volleyball.
This truly will be a monumental weekend for Rock Athletics, as we rededicate and rename our stadium, Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. I could not think of a more deserving person than Dr. George Mihalik to have his name permanently affixed to such a well-know and multi-use stadium on our campus. His accomplishments in teaching and coaching at SRU over the past 35 years are second to none and will forever be looked upon in a positive manner.
So much going on this weekend; Family Day, Slippery Rock VillageFest, home SRU athletic events and the stadium dedication ceremonies. I hope you can join us at SRU in celebrating the weekend of events.
