Hey friends,
Our lacrosse team had a fantastic time this weekend at the Lake Erie Monsters’ hockey game!
Our Saturday went like this… We hosted a lunch and questionnaire session for Junior Day, where juniors from high school that are interested in our program came to ask us some questions about the university and Rock lacrosse. We grubbed on some fantastic lunch and then we went to the SRU women’s basketball game until about 2:45 when we made our voyage to Stow, Ohio.
In Stow, Brianne’s parents, Daisy and Brad Dishong, provided us with a GREAT dinner and even gave us some tasty desserts!
We left the Dishong’s and boarded our vans for the trip to Cleveland for the game. We got to dance with “Showtime” when we got there. He was leading groups of people through dances outside in the concourse before the game.
We made signs to cheer on the Monsters and to make sure we would get on the jumbotron. Dakota McCoy asked #26 on the Griffins, the visiting team, to be her valentine, and got rudely rejected.
The game was a lot of fun and a team bonding experience for everyone! We left the game around 10 p.m. and arrived back to Slippery Rock at midnight for some much needed rest!
We hope to do more team bonding experiences in the future because this one was so much fun! Stay tuned to see how our practices are going since we have now ventured outside!!
ROCK IT OUT!
