I am so proud of our ROCK fall sports teams. Our student-athletes and coaches worked hard while representing the Green and White in a first-class way and brought about exciting results on the field.
Congratulations to our women’s soccer team for making it to the ‘Sweet 16’ in the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship. Our women’s volleyball team was selected to play in the NCAA Division II Regional Championship. Great job ladies.!
For the first time in many years our women’s field hockey team qualified for the PSAC playoffs, by knocking off IUP in a must win game in the season finale. It was an exciting way to go into the playoffs.
Hats off to SRU Cross Country Coach, John Papa, and his assistants for successfully hosting the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship at Cooper’s Lake. It was a beautiful day and as usual, the races went off without a hitch.
Finally, the Rock Football season was one to remember. 5 great home wins, including IUP, Cal, and Mercyhurst and a trip to the PSAC Football Championship game at Kutztown. And who will ever forget the renaming of our stadium to Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Wow, it was an exciting fall and now let’s get ready for a successful basketball and indoor track and field season.
